Poco, the Xiaomi spin-off, has discreetly introduced its latest entry-level smartphone, the Poco C65. This new device seems to be a successor to the Poco C55, which made its debut earlier this year. Unveiled on Poco’s global website, the Poco C65 comes equipped with several noteworthy upgrades compared to its predecessor, such as a faster display and USB Type-C charging. While the exact pricing of the Poco C65 is yet to be disclosed, it’s important to note that the Poco C55 was initially priced at Rs 9,499 in India.
Poco C65 in Detail: A Closer Look at the Specs and Features
The Poco C65 boasts a 6.74-inch 720p IPS LCD display with a sleek waterdrop-style notch design. This display stands out with a remarkable 90Hz refresh rate, delivering smoother visuals, and it’s shielded by an unspecified version of Corning Gorilla Glass. Additionally, the screen can reach brightness levels of over 600 nits, as highlighted by Poco.
Under the hood, the Poco C65 is powered by the MediaTek Helio G85 processor, the same chipset found in the Poco C55. However, where it shines is the upgraded RAM and storage options, offering users up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Running the show is MIUI 14, specifically tailored for Poco and presumably built on the foundation of Android 13.
When it comes to photography, the Poco C65 presents a dual-camera setup on the rear panel, comprising a 50-megapixel primary camera and an additional 2-megapixel shooter designed for macro photography. Meanwhile, on the front, you’ll find an 8-megapixel selfie camera to capture your cherished moments.
Fueling the Poco C65’s operations is a robust 5,000mAh battery, which supports 18W fast charging through a convenient USB Type-C port. As stated in the official listing, Poco will include a 10W charger within the package for your convenience.
Notably, the distinctive leather-like stitch design featured in the Poco C55 has been replaced in this iteration. Instead, the Poco C65 embraces a more understated flat polycarbonate body, offered in a choice of elegant black, cool blue, and regal purple. The phone incorporates biometric security through a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and comes equipped with NFC functionality, a 3.5mm audio jack, and micro-SD card storage expansion, adding to its versatility.
Poco has not yet revealed the pricing and availability specifics for the Poco C65. Based on historical trends, we can anticipate that the Poco C65 will eventually make its way to the Indian market with an estimated price tag of approximately INR 10,000.
