A team of researchers hailing from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT-M), affiliated with the Centre for Research on Start-ups and Risk Financing (CREST), has unveiled an innovative ‘Government Funding Schemes Intelligence Platform for Startups.’ This initiative aims to invigorate the startup ecosystem.
In collaboration with YNOS, a startup incubated at IIT-M, this government funding platform has been meticulously crafted to provide budding entrepreneurs with a one-stop destination for all government-backed startup initiatives.
The development of this platform is the result of extensive research and data analysis conducted by a dedicated team led by Professor Thillai Rajan, who serves as the Principal Investigator at CREST and is a faculty member in the Department of Management Studies at IIT-M.
Empowering Entrepreneurs: Government Funding Platform Unveiled for Startups

The platform is designed to offer entrepreneurs a comprehensive overview of the diverse government funding opportunities available for startups. It consolidates information on various schemes offered by central government bodies, central public sector enterprises, as well as those extended by different state governments, encompassing over 100 distinctive programs.
Amitabh Kant, India’s G20 Sherpa, officially launched this platform, highlighting its user-friendly nature. He explained, “With a simple click, entrepreneurs can access a wealth of information on all government schemes in one convenient location. Additionally, the platform offers in-depth analytics, such as details about startups that have benefited from these schemes, the average financial support they received, the startup’s age at the time of funding, the number of founders, and the founders’ ages when they received financial assistance.”
Furthermore, the platform offers contact details and social media links for each scheme, allowing entrepreneurs to explore these opportunities further. Entrepreneurs also have the option to download comprehensive reports on each scheme, facilitating informed decision-making.
